DOST fuels a nuclear Philippines at the Atomic Energy Week 2024
Whether you’re a millennial, boomer, or zoomer, whatever your generation, we can all help fuel a nuclear Philippines as the country celebrates this year’s Atomic Energy Week (AEW) from December 9 to 13 at the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Nuclear Research Institute (DOST-PNRI) in Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City.
With the tagline “Gen-Atom: Fueling a Nuclear Philippines”, the 52nd AEW will once again feature various activities such as technical session, career talk and poster-making contest for students, and open-house guided tours of nuclear S&T exhibits all day long, from December 9 to 12.
At the week’s conclusion, DOST-PNRI will also recognize its Civil Service Awardees and recipients of other accolades for the year. The Institute will also hold an Employees’ Day to cap the event with an afternoon of raffles, games, and well-deserved bonding after a whole year’s worth of accomplishments.
The AEW serves as the annual culmination of the Institute’s efforts in bringing the benefits of the atom to the general public. Featuring the latest developments in nuclear and radiation-related innovations by our very own Filipino scientists and researchers, it is also the perfect avenue for professionals, educators, students and other stakeholders or sectors to meet and discuss the growing role of nuclear science in national development.
As mandated under Presidential Proclamation No. 1211 in 1973, the AEW aims to generate awareness of the Filipino people on the beneficial uses of nuclear science and technology.
