Heads up to all students and early career professionals from 18 to 30 years of age!

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) invites you to join this year's Nuclear Safety Essay Competition for Students and Early Career Professionals.

The competition aims to promote creative and innovative thinking and highlight the critical role that the next generation will play in sustaining and ensuring a safe future for the peaceful uses of nuclear technology in areas such as nuclear power, food and agriculture, water management, and human health.

Topics include the future of nuclear power, the impact of climate change and other factors in the nuclear industry, significant impacts of nuclear science and technology in the past decade, and the role of the youth in raising the next generation of nuclear experts, among others.

Winners will receive financial support from the IAEA to attend as one of the youth panelists at the side event of the International Conference on a Decade of Progress after Fukushima-Daiichi: Building on the Lessons Learned to Further Strengthen Nuclear Safety on November 8-12, 2021 in Vienna, Austria. The themes from winning essays will be part of the development of the Call for Action and other products of the conference.

Deadline for submission of entries is on August 1, 2021 at 5:59 AM (July 31, 2021, 11:59 PM Central European Time). For more details, visit the IAEA website link here.

The IAEA, which reports to the United Nations, is the international organization for the safe, secure and peaceful uses of nuclear science and technology across the globe.
