MMSU partners with DOST-PNRI for joint nuclear R&D
Like atoms forming molecules through strong linkages, the Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Nuclear Research Institute (DOST-PNRI) has also made a new foray in academic partnerships up north as representatives from Mariano Marcos State University in Ilocos Norte signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for joint research and development on nuclear and radiation technology.
The MOU looks forward to an active cooperation between the agency and the university, particularly through joint research projects, technology transfer, exchange of data and expertise of their scientists, engineers and students, OJTs, fellowships and workshops, among others.
In particular, the parties also aim to eventually incorporate nuclear science and engineering in the curriculum of select courses and degrees.
Among the particular fields of research are nuclear science and engineering, as well as the Atom's various applications in agriculture, health and medicine, industry and manufacturing, food processing and related areas.
